Stone Jade
Nephrite is a tremolitic amphibole with the formula calcium iron magnesium silicate.
Jadeite is a mineral belonging to the pyroxene group and is a sodium aluminum silicate. Jade is sometimes called "the dream stone" for its ability to help one access the non-physical spirit realms. It is a protective stone, and acts as a ward against negative energies. Jade facilitates peace and harmony between the mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of your life. This stone can help you attain your goals, installing resourcefulness, and allowing you to see past your limitations and manifest your ideas in the physical world. Jade encourages confidence, self-reliance and self-sufficiency. It is considered to be a lucky stone. Jade is said to promote courage, justice, compassion, humility, generosity, wealth, and longevity. Its use can lead to a richer, more fulfilling life. Stone Therapy
Why The Marble? ... And How it Completes the Basalt. Cold, used alone on the body, is a powerful decongestant, pushing fluid and wastes out of overworked, chronically tense, or inflamed tissues. Cold can interrupt the pain-spasm-pain cycle. In cooperation with heated stones, chilled marble stones create a dramatic movement of fluids within the body. This is healing due to the cleansing and nourishing effect of vascular gymnastics (alternate constriction/dilation of blood vessels). Cold offers a challenge to the body, so it is tonifying, or strengthening, to several bodily systems, especially the immune system. Chilled marble stones are not as powerful as ice, which has a property
called the latent heat of fusion. This chemical property accounts for
the power of water to expand when frozen, as well as the burning power
of steam. Water, frozen and evaporated, is extreme in its' effects on
the body. This is beneficial in the right measure, as evidenced by steam
baths and cryotherapy. In massage, cold marble stones have the advantage
over ice, in that stones do not desensitize the skin, as ice can, so soft
tissue manipulations and mobilizations will not be taken beyond the client's
tolerance. Stone Therapy & Basalt Massage Stones
Heated stone massage treatments use stones made of Basalt material. Basalt
has been found to have the best heat retention capabilities therefore,
the best for therapeutic purpose. Although Basalt is found in volcanic
regions, our massage stones are made of Hawaiian Basalt River Rock and
are not Lava Stones. Lava Stones are very rough and porous. Our stones
are very smooth and dense. They can hold heat for a very long time and
do not have to be reheated during a session.
When clean and unoiled, the natural color of All Basalt is gray to black
with some having a strong greenish hue. Hawaiian Basalt is rich in Olivine,
the mineral giving some of the stones their green color. The inherent
minerals fused into the basalt help radiate their natural healing energy.
All stones will become JET BLACK with just a little massage oil or cream.
